Visualization of near-real time monitoring results
Concept
Participants of PP will be able to access the websites to check whether their data are disseminated over GTS without problems, or to check the status of missing data. That could be future standard of WMO Data Management in WIS.
Lead centres (currently CMA and JMA) create websites to display incoming status of observation reports exchanged over GTS. The status is updated in near real-time basis (namely daily or weekly). Information includes:
- map display of geographical distribution of observing stations from which a report is received and
- statistics of data exchange
Application(s)
- KML monitoring tool (can be viewed with Google Earth):
# Red icons correspond to “Lack or Delay” reports (at least 15 minutes delay).
# The kmz (compressed kml) file automatically updates at 15 - 55 minutes past every hour.
